The Real Theming Company is the vision of designers Clive Powell and Ian Hewitt. Our philosphy is a simple one, true design comes from a blank piece of paper and an inspired mind.

With our wealth of knowledge and diverse project experience, we have acquired an inspirational pool of talent and resources to help us deliver our vision, taking design from its conceptual stage through to realisation.

Core Team

Clive Powell - Creative Director

Clive has 25 years experience in creative design, build, product development and marketing. His passion for self-inspired design and expression, combined with his many years experience in business development and customer liaison , has enabled him to build an international portfolio.

Richard Timson - Non Executive Director

Richard has been both building and operating themed entertainment for over thirty six years. He currently provides themed entertainment to the prestigious Warwick Castle owned by the Merlin Group, Camelot Theme Park and Park Hall Hotel.

Ian Hewitt - Design Director

In a career spanning twenty years, Ian has been responsible for the design and project management of many international themed leisure attractions.

His global portfolio has a proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budget.

In November 2003 he was awarded the title of Entrepreneur of the Year by West Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.

John Cooke - Operations

John Cooke has over twenty six years experience in the development and operational management of global themed attractions. Through his company, European Leisure Solutions, John has played a pivotal role in assessing the commerciality of our concepts and on through to completion.

Eddie Farrell - Site Foreman

Once the build process begins its Eddie who runs our sites. With over twenty years of international site management experience Eddie has seen it, done it, built it.

Gary Withington - Theme Artist

Gary is a truly world class Sculptor, he has worked on many high profile projects from Disneyland to Dubai. Gary is pivotal in the realisation of our themed concepts. Gary is exceptionally site savvy and is a real can do sort of guy.

Paul Grundy - Sculptor

Paul is an artist, sculptor and model maker, his work has been used in film, TV and media as well as sculpting many world renowned leisure locations. Once again like Gary, Paul is pivotal to the realisation of our themed concepts.

Steven Smith - Scenic Artist

We discovered Steve some fifteen years ago. Fresh out of art college Steve was plunged into the world of themed leisure build, hence his nick name ‘Baby Steve’. Steve has become a mural artist of quite exceptional ability, yet has a site awareness that is rare to his trade. Steven’s canvasses exhibit in galleries all over the country and have been considered for the Royal Academy.
